The Guardian: Millennials want to work for employers committed to values and ethics
In a booming jobs market, how to remain competitive for top graduates and experience? While demographics and demands of Australia’s workforce are undergoing substantial shifts, organisations can take proactive steps to position themselves competitively.
Millennials make up 50% of the workforce, and are slated to reach 75% by 2025. Some companies, such as EY and Accenture, already comprise two-thirds Millennials. Along with Generation-Z, this cohort prioritises prospective employers’ values and purpose highly.
“It’s important for people to be able to bring their full selves to work,” Nina McQueen, LinkedIn vice president of benefits and experience, tells CNBC Make It. “As people’s work and personal lives become more intertwined than ever before, there has been an increased expectation that the companies we work for have our shared values.”
LinkedIn surveyed a nationally representative sample of just over 3,000 adult full-time workers in the U.S. to better understand the factors companies need to prioritize to attract and keep the most talented workers, and it finds near consensus on some key issues. Nearly 90 percent of employees think it matters that they’re able to be proud of the company they work for.

Partner with the organisation awarded Charity Navigator’s highest rating for the 14th year
For fourteen consecutive years, Rotary Foundation Australia’s parent organisation, The Rotary Foundation, has received the highest rating — four stars — from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S. They have given TRF an overall score of 100% — that’s 100 / 100 for all four parameters: Financial, Accountability & Transparency, Leadership & Adaptability and Culture & Community.
“We are proud to announce The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International has earned our fourteenth consecutive 4-star rating”, says Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator.
“This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work.
“Only 1% of the charities we evaluate have received at least 14 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International outperforms most other charities in America. This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”
